Going to a Salon for a Professional Coloring
1/7/2015

Thinking about going blonde? Maybe you want to try something crazy like blue hair, or perhaps you just want to hide some of those pesky gray hairs that have been popping up. Many people who consider coloring their hair go to the drugstore and buy a box of hair dye, but is that really the best move? Sure, it’s cheaper, but there are some reasons why you may want to go to a professional hairstylist to have your hair colored.

If you’re going to do a temporary color for Halloween or some other costume event that will wash out within a few days, you may not want to spend the money to go to a salon. However, if you’re doing a permanent color and want it to look great, you’re going to need the help of a professional. Coloring your hair at home can be messy. It can be difficult to keep the dye off of your ears and forehead, plus you may end up with dye all over your bathroom.

It can also be difficult to find the right color for your hair. Even though the box says it’s a certain color, the dye will combine with your natural hair color, and you’ll end up with a shade that’s a little different than what the package shows. A hairstylist with experience in dyeing hair will be able to find the perfect dye to create the color you want. They’re also experienced with highlights and doing two-toned hair.

If you’re looking to go from light hair to really dark hair or vice versa, you’ll definitely want to seek a professional’s help. The same goes if you’re trying to dye your hair red. Red hair can be really difficult to get right, and you’re more likely to end up with a very fake looking color if you try doing it yourself.
