Avoiding these Day Spa Mistakes
3/13/2015

If you’re going to a day spa, you probably assume you’re going to be told everything you need to know. You’ll have your schedule so you know where to be and what to do throughout the day, and you’ll probably have a list of what you need to bring or wear from the spa staff. But did you know there are a lot of little things you can do at the spa that will be frowned upon? Spa staff may not ask you to leave, but some of the other guests might give you disapproving looks.

Always follow the dress code. Yes, in some parts of the day spa, you may undress for a massage or for other treatments. But outside of those areas, you should always wear a robe or other clothing. If you’re not certain what the dress code is, make certain you ask.

Don’t be late to an appointment. You’ll often have activities scheduled for each hour, so you don’t have to worry about being late for something. However, if you do have some free time, make sure you watch the clock. If you’re late, you may either not get the full treatment or you may cause the next person to get a late start.

Don’t be loud. The spa is a place of quiet relaxation. Being too loud is going to disturb others. Make sure you put your phone on silent, too, so that it doesn’t break the atmosphere of the spa. Better yet, turn it off. You don’t really need to be disturbed on your spa day, do you?

Be positive. There’s no need to feel down or be negative while at a spa. You’re there to relax and have a good time. Don’t bring anything negative into the spa. It’s a place of positive thinking and energy.
