Dealing with Breakouts
4/2/2015

While many people assume that teens are the only ones who have to deal with acne breakouts, they’d be very mistaken. A number of adults also deal with acne, and some have severe acne their entire lives. Even a trip to a day spa for a good exfoliation and wrap can’t help remove all of the acne from their face, neck, chest, and back. However, there are a few things you can do to help control your acne.

First, you need to always keep your face clean. It’s not enough to wash your face at night—any time you do any sort of physical activity, you need to wash your face off. This is because you get a lot of different dirt and other debris on your face when you play sports or exercise. Sweat then comes along and helps lock this dirt into your pores, which then can easily transform into acne. Any time you do physical activity, take a few minutes afterward to wash your face. Experts recommend that you wash your face a minimum of two times a day even if you’re not very active.

Don’t forget to take your makeup off at night. It can easily start to clog up your pores if you don’t. Make certain you take all of it off—even leaving something like eyeliner on at night can cause some problems. It might not lead to more acne, but it can irritate the skin. Also don’t forget to take off your concealer as soon as you can. While it might hide acne, it can also make it worse.

Don’t forget to keep hydrated and eat right. Diet does greatly impact how your skin looks, so you want to make certain you eat right. Drinking water is also very, very important. Even adding a couple of glasses a day to what you’re already drinking can make a huge difference.
