Hair Styles for Special Occasions
2/3/2015

There are many days when you want a functional hairstyle. Something you can brush quickly or pull back. But sometimes, you need to have a special hairstyle for a special occasion. Your hairstylist will certainly have some ideas as to what you can do for that occasion. But before you can have your special day, you need to make a hair appointment.

One of the last things you want to do is hope to get a walk-in appointment before a major event like your wedding, anniversary, or prom. There’s always the chance that your favorite stylist will be booked for the day with no cancelations. Always book a hair appointment before any big day.

Know what you want. Chances are, if you’re having your hair done for your wedding, you already have an idea of what you want. But if you’re going in for a lesser occasion, you may not. While you can leave some of it up to your stylist, you should always go into an appointment with at least a vague notion of what you want your hair to look like. This is especially true if it’s a stylist you’ve never been to before. If it’s your regular hairstylist, it’s a little different—they may be able to whip up something amazing because they know you, your hair, and what looks good on you.

Be mindful of what you’re wearing. You’re probably not wearing your dress or formal clothing to your appointment. That means you’ll be changing clothes in between the event and having your hair styled. Remember that pulling off a shirt may mess up your hair, so if you’re having something really complicated done, you might want to wear a button-up shirt so you don’t run any risk of messing up your hair. Also ask your stylist what you can do to touch up your look before the big event.
