How Long Should you Spend at the Spa?
3/20/2015

If you’re looking at going to a day spa, the fact that it’s a “day” spa probably tells you how long you should stay there. It’s just a quick day outing that will leave you feeling refreshed and ready to face tomorrow. But while these day spas are pretty common and can be a great way to relax, they’re also not the only type of spa out there.

There are some spas that are designed to offer quick hour services. These spas are usually designed for massages. Clients run in to get a quick massage and relax on their lunch hour or after work. They usually don’t offer anything that’s more complicated than a basic facial mask.

On the other hand, there are some spas that allow you to book several days in a row, a week, or even two weeks. These spas have hotels attached to them, and you can really emerge yourself in the spa lifestyle. Some of these spas are detox programs and offer everything from a cleanse to actually recovering from an addiction. Of course, they’re often expensive, but if you want to get away and truly relax for a few days or a week, that option is there.

If you’re looking to really make a lifestyle change, finding a longer spa program that fits what you want to do with your life is a good idea. For example, if you want to change up your diet to something much healthier, you’re going to need more than a day to learn how to do that. Going to a week-long spa that focuses on nutrition would be a really good idea. The same goes with learning to handle stress. You’ll want to look for a spa that offers programs in meditation and other relaxation methods. While it does cost more and means taking off work for a week, it can be worth it.
