Maintaining your Hairstyle
3/16/2015

You’ve gone to your hairstylist, and they’ve given you an amazing look. You absolutely love it, and you can’t wait to get comments on it when you go to work in the morning. But then you wake up the next morning and have no idea how to make your hair look the same. How do you maintain this wonderful hair style you just got?

Maintaining your hair style at home shouldn’t be an issue—after all, you go to a stylist to get a haircut you can recreate every day. Some cuts are, of course, much easier to handle than others. Short pixie cuts may not take much at all to look great, but it’s the longer and more involved styles that some people have difficulty with.

Before you even sit down in the chair, talk to your stylist about the look you want. Ask how difficult it will be to maintain. Will you need anything more than a brush and maybe a little hair gel? If yes, you’ll want to make a list of the products you’ll need. You may also want to ask about the price. Most salons sell products, so you can buy what you need there, but it may be more than you want to spend. Also be sure you ask about how long it will take to get your hair looking great in the morning. If you like to sleep in, you don’t want a style that’s going to take extra time.

You can also ask your stylist for advice on your morning hair routine. They should be able to walk you through the process so you know what to expect. They will give you instructions on how to wash your hair, if you should air dry it or blow dry it, and what to do in the morning to get ready.
