Small Things that Make Hairstylists Great

Do you have a hairstylist who is absolutely amazing? If you do, there may be more to what he or she does than just cutting, washing, and styling your hair. They may offer a few little extras here and there that truly blow all other hairstylists out of the water. Here are a few different perks that some stylists have that may make you consider looking for someone new.
It’s not really a perk, but a hairstylist who is personable and takes an interest in you is certainly nice. You don’t really want to sit awkwardly for an hour or so while someone works on your hair in silence, do you? Of course, some people don’t really like chatty stylists who never stop talking. A good hairstylist will be able to get an idea on how much chatter their customer likes. If your stylist is friendly and takes the perfect amount of interest in your life, you may have found someone you can go to for years.
Does your stylist offer you any amenities? Is there a coffee or water available? How about plenty of magazines and other reading materials? Do they have small trial sizes of different hair care products? All of these can be very nice when you’re waiting for your appointment or when you aren’t sure what type of shampoo you need to use on your hair.
In addition to providing small trial sizes, does your stylist teach you how to take care of your hair or the style they’ve given you? Do you know how to fix your hair so that it looks the same? If not, you definitely need to ask. Then you might think about finding a new stylist who will talk to you about everything you need to know in order to maintain your hair.
