Salons Offer a Wide Variety of Services
2/6/2015

If you don’t need a haircut, why would you go to a salon? After all, isn’t that what you get at a salon? Many people assume that just because hairstylists work at a salon that all you’ll get there are trims and new styles. But in the modern salon, that’s no longer true. Salons now offer a wide variety of services.

Many stylists do more than just cut hair. They also color it, add extensions, repair damaged hair, and help patients learn how to take care of their hair. They’re often trained cosmetologists who understand how coloring chemicals react and how healthy hair functions.

A number of salons also have a nail specialist on staff. They handle manicures and pedicures. You can go to the salon one day for a cut and style and go back the next for new nails, or you can really treat yourself and get everything in a day.

Some salons have added a masseuse. While it’s no substitute for a day spa, these masseuses can help you deal with tension and stress. They’re not just some person who decided to start giving back rubs. They’re all trained and certified massage therapists who bring something new and often very welcomed to salons.

Another service a lot of salons now offer is product sales. Many have started carrying the products that their stylists use in their work. This makes it easy to purchase products that you know will work in your hair and make you look great. They are generally priced at about the same price point as you’d pay in department stores, too, so why not get everything in one place? It’s much more convenient, especially since your stylist is right there and can tell you exactly what you need.

These are just a few things today’s salon offers. So next time you head in for a haircut, ask what else you can do at your local salon.
